About the Law Firm Email Disclaimer Template
The Law Firm Email Disclaimer is a template email disclaimer for a law firm to use on their emails.
Email disclaimers inform recipients of your email policy and are used to reduce liability and caution email recipients about misusing your email, or to help manage damage where the wrong recipient receives your email. In the case of a law firm, there are also client and professional confidentiality obligations in place.
It is best practice to use an email disclaimer as part of your email signature to help limit liability and assert confidentiality and copyright. Note that where an email is truly confidential information, the subject line or body of the email should also make reference to it with words to the effect “private and confidential”.
This template:

· is a general template drafted for Australian laws and will need to be customised to your specific state or territory for any limited liability schemes – the NSW statement is used as an example.
